Why We Are Green
"When one tugs at a single thing in Nature, he finds it attached to the rest of the World"
The Boghill Centre is a small innovative company on the cutting edge of Ecotourism in Ireland. We offer a residential venue for learning, training events, retreats and functions, usually falling within the fields of music, healing and eco activities. We are committed to running a low cost and low impact ecological activity centre/venue for both local community and tourist use.
50 Acres of Natural Land...
We aim to make the most of our natural resources and live our Eco ethos, thus the 50 acre estate includes many ecological features – an organic vegetable and fruit gardens, a nature trail, a stone circle, a wildlife pond, a reed labyrinth, a chicken coop, an orchard, and several recently planted native woodland areas.
Our mantra is reduce, reuse, recycle and our ethos is based on creating an environmentally sustainable business having a minimal impact on the earth.
Minimal Environmental Impact
We are working towards a minimal environmental impact approach to the running of the Centre, the estate and all its activities. We already have many eco-practices in place and are committed to a process of monitoring and measuring impacts with a view to continual improvement when economics allow. We are lucky to be situated in a secluded rural position away from noise and light pollution and air/soil contaminants and we aim to keep any contamination caused by our business to a minimum and ensure that our activities do not jeopardize provision of any basic services to neighbouring communities. As members of the Burren Ecotourism Network, we are committed to respecting the Burren and Cliffs of Moher Geopark Sustainable Code of Practice for Tourism.
