Who We Are
"If you cannot do Great things, do small things in a Great way!"
The Boghill Centre is a residential venue for events such as workshops, courses, conferences and for individual/group retreats and holidays. We offer a sustainable complex including organic vegetable and fruit gardens, a nature trail, a stone circle, a wildlife ponds, labyrinths, a chicken coop, an orchard and native woodland areas. The Boghill kitchen is renowned for its delicious nurturing vegetarian food sourced primarily from the adjoining organic garden and orchard.
The Burren & Cliffs of UNESCO Moher Geopark
The Centre nestles on the edge of the Burren – a unique limestone area offering one of the most distinctive landscapes in Ireland, and a varied coast stretching south into the Cliffs of Moher. With its unusual geological features, its well preserved archaeology, its unique flora and fauna and its local culture, it is a magical area to explore.
Situated in 50 acres of natural bogland in the Burren & Cliffs of Moher Geopark, North Clare, the centre is secluded and has a quiet atmosphere making it the perfect place to relax, unwind and renew your spirit. The nearest villages are Lisdoonvarna (2 miles) and Kilfenora (3 miles).
Our mantra is reduce, reuse, recycle and our ethos is based on creating an environmentally sustainable business having a minimal impact on the earth.
The Boghill Team
Sonja has an MA in educational sociology from the University of Amsterdam. She is well respected for her music and teaching skills, having been active in the traditional music scene in Clare for 23 years. The Boghill Centre’s focus on traditional Irish music grew out of her life-long dedication to music and the teaching of music.
Her own personal growth and the high demand during these stress conscious times for alternative healing have led the business to incorporate workshops in alternative healing and stress relief. Sonja is a master in the energy discipline of Reiki and is qualified to teach Kundalini Yoga.
