Traditional
Irish Music Workshops
Dates
2012:
5th - 11th August
12th - 18th August
|
|
The workshops are open to people who play a traditional
instrument catering for all instruments, levels and
abilities. Melodic and accompanying instruments are both
catered for.
The week begins on Sunday with an evening meal.
Workshops take place every morning Monday to Friday.
Afternoons are left free to explore the countryside,
practise, catch up on some sleep or dip into one of the
eco activities.
In the late afternoon
there will be a music studio with rehearsals, questions
and to tackle specific problems. Each evening the group goes to a
different session in a variety of local pubs. (this is
optional of course)
The week finishes after breakfast on Saturday, however
you can stay longer if you wish or leave earlier.
(but don't do that!)
We invite a different local musician to come in to teach each
day and aim to cover all instruments of those
participating in the workshop.
The workshops are very relaxed and friendly.
Music is supposed to be fun....... you remember?
We don't teach instruments from scratch and participants
are expected to have a basic understanding of their
instrument.
Due to the nature of the Irish music most of the tuition
is done by ear, however notes are provided as well. It
is recommended to bring a recording device to record the
tunes.
If you have more questions about the Music Workshop go
to FAQ page.
