The Boghill Centre is
a residential activity centre situated off the beaten track,
in a natural bog land setting in the North of County Clare
at the foot of the Burren.
The Burren is a unique limestone
landscape with rare flora, fauna and a stunning coastline.
Although it is only two miles from Lisdoonvarna and four
miles from Kilfenora it has a quiet and secluded atmosphere,
making it the perfect place to relax and unwind.
The Boghill complex- set in 50 acres of land- incorporates
Boghill House, Boghill
Octagon Hall and the buildings that
hold the double and single rooms.
Boghill Centre is about 2 miles from the nearest village. It
takes 40 minutes to walk
to Lisdoonvarna, and 50 minutes - 1
hour to walk to Kilfenora depending on your speed!
It
is not absolutely necessary to have a car but if you want to
go out and about a lot it is helpful to have your own
transport. People with cars that are staying do sometimes
take others for trips. There will often be trips to
Lisdoonvarna made by staff when large groups are in and
guests are welcome to come along.
For transport to the sessions each night we arrange taxis or
a bus if there are not enough people driving or if people
want a break from driving. The fees for these trips range
from 2 5 euro return depending on where the session is.
We have recently upgraded to wireless broadband, so bring
your laptop if you
can't do without the web!
What goes on at
the Boghill Centre?
Bed and Breakfast and hostel accommodation is available year
round.
Also, regular residential workshops include

of activities for environmental education
and school field trips. The venue
is also available to hire
for workshops, private functions, conferences and school
trips.
Accommodation
Accommodation at Boghill is flexible to suit your needs and
your purse.
Although the centre is fully booked with groups of people
for much of the
year, visitors are welcome whenever there
are rooms available.
B&B at Boghill provides a budget alternative to the
traditional B&B or hotel scene.
