UNCOVERING GRACE

Dates: 9 - 11 December

A Yoga of Voice and Feelings

'I am at home.   Fear is the stranger here'
Yoga of the Chinese Organ Sounds

INTRODUCING NEW WORK RESEARCHED AND DEVELOPED BY ANTOINETTE SPILLANE.

This is a Practice that teaches how to face and diminish sensations of fear in the form of familiar negative emotions, experienced as vibrations in the body, and interpreted by the mind as hurt, anger, grief, worry, etc.
It is an embodied practice that inspires and directs the uncovering of a vision of an original, superior function of the 5 organs as sensitive navigators, guiding us through life.  A re-training, or tuning-up of instinctive gut feelings.
Using a Practice that includes physical gestures and expressions of breath and voice, with potent instructions on colour and sound that come from the founding wisdom of Chinese medicine.
A practice that may be used to 'compost' negative emotions, changing them into a state of equilibrium and sometimes transcendent insight.
In spite of all our work, depression and every form of anguish continues to arise for many of us. It is a logical consequence for individuals living within a status quo that believes in Attack/Defence, portrayed everywhere as "Reality".
All spiritual teaching tells us that fear is not real, and points to the grace and joy that blooms under everything that seems to be happening.  Although we embrace that thought it can be hard to embody it when the pressure is on.

This is an embodied practice.  In time it becomes simply a way of being.
It is a way of engaging with emotion as a physical and faithful task,   Invoking a learned new body language that shows up under old pathways of hurt.   An old tool, which in the light of present day teaching of people like Ekhart Tolle, or ACIM, has come into its time, as a way of coping with emotions by illuminating the grace behind them, ever present Now, without going into the history that gave rise to them.
It is my creative response to my own struggle in recovery, from habits of hurt, addiction and depression, and incorporates all  I ever learned of body-work, Stillness, Yoga, and any artistic capacity I have, plus a talent for deciphering old diagrams, a leap of faith, and fervent prayer for help.

The book,  'A Course in Miracles'  came about as a result of a conflict situation in the workplace, when the scribe, Helen Schucman said to her work colleague 'There must be a better way, lets ask together'.
This Practice connects very well with the lessons in "A Course in Miracles".
I am inviting my old students, friends and journey companions to join me with this same question and spirit, in a Christmas gathering.   A retreat and reunion of old friends, each one a dedicated worker in these realms.
The emphasis is on a shared, positive vision of Grace.  With some time and space to walk, or work alone, outside of the workshop room.
It is an introduction to the work.  My intention is that we would ask to see, together, the potential it has.
I don't intend it to be an occasion for major excavation of old feelings.
We would be playing with easy voice exercises, with some dance or movement.  Working in pairs, small groups and separately. Relaxed about the work.  Meditating.   Not trying to do too much.  Listening  for inspiration. I value your input.
People living locally can pay for individual meals, but they need to book, and let us know.
I am inviting everybody would appreciate this work to join .
I OFFER THE WORKSHOP AT €140 WHICH IS THE Basic rate (Private rooms available at rate of €22 extra per person)
FOR MY FEE, I WILL LEAVE  A SEALED BOX AND ASK FOR DONATIONS OF €20 OR MORE.
Please secure your place by sending a DEPOSIT OF €50 PER PERSON,   TO ME AT SEACLIFF, CLAHANE, LISCANNOR, CO. CLARE.

Love and best wishes

From Antoinette.
